Our Mission & Vision

Empowering Families Through Evidence-Based Addiction Recovery Programs

The Family Life Center is a central part of the Foundation for Family Life (FFL). As the executive director, Dr. Joseph White created FFL in 2010 to promote healthy family & individual life, to provide hope for those who want to write a better life story than the path they may find themselves on. He shares his gratitude for the life-saving blessing of overcoming addiction & incarceration in the video below. He highlights some of the joy found in his academic journey, the insights gained from studying substance abuse recovery in a professional capacity, & now the opportunity he has to "give back" in some small way. He is passionate about the hope available for all who want to change! He has a blessed family & attributes his story of success to faith in God, perseverance, & living true to his values. His greatest desire in life is to share with others the peace, love, hope, & joy he has found on his journey.

Our Core Values

At the Family Life Center, our daily work is guided by a set of core principles that ensure every individual and family receives the highest standard of care, respect, and dignity.

Compassionate, Whole-Person Care

We recognize that addiction impacts every facet of a person’s life—physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. We meet individuals exactly where they are with empathy and without judgment.

Family-Centered Recovery

True healing rarely happens in isolation. We are deeply committed to repairing, strengthening, and equipping the entire family unit so that the home becomes a lasting foundation for long-term sobriety.

Clinical Excellence & Integrity

Our programs are rooted in evidence-based therapeutic practices, led by licensed clinicians who hold themselves to the highest ethical and clinical standards.

Community & Accountability

We believe recovery thrives in connection. We cultivate a safe, structured, and supportive environment where individuals can build meaningful relationships and take ownership of their future.

How We Support Our Community

Recovery is not a one-size-fits-all journey. To effectively address the complex nature of substance abuse and mental health challenges, the Family Life Center provides a comprehensive continuum of care.

Our specialized programs are designed to support individuals at various stages of their recovery, ensuring they have the tools necessary for a seamless transition back into daily life:

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP)

Structuring professional therapy, group counseling, and life-skills training around your daily schedule, allowing you to heal while maintaining your personal or professional commitments.

Sober Living & Transitional Housing

Providing safe, substance-free environments that foster accountability, peer support, and a structured bridge between treatment and complete independence.

Family Education & Support

Equipping loved ones with the boundaries, communication tools, and emotional support needed to navigate the recovery process together.

Through this multi-layered framework, we strive to reduce the stigma of addiction and build a healthier, more resilient community right here in Utah.
